Kirk Fellabom's Letter

To the 49+ Best Corvette People in the USA!
It's hard to believe that we've been finished with the Motorama for almost a month. It seemed that it would never get here and as with most good things, it's over far too soon.
I don't know if ever I've had so many great memories of 10 days in my life. Beautiful Corvettes, beautiful settings to display them, wonderful receptions with good food and gracious hosts, all filled the entire trip.
The best part was getting to spend time with all of you. In a letter to Larry Hayes I said that I made 50 new friends and I believe that. We all have a common bond because of our passion for Corvettes, but now an even stronger bond because of the Motorama.
As we see each other in the future, we will remember a few miles of the trip. When we hear and see things it will remind us of little events that will make us smile. Such as when we see a yellow Monte Carlo, we'll think of that #@*!^ siren that played so beautifully each time it's wheels turned. When the sprinklers go off across the street we'll wonder if we really needed to dry off the cars just one more time.
Just typing this makes me think of so many things. The display at Sloan Museum, Paragon, Les Stanford, Corvette Central, Bill Jacobs, Kiener Plaza, the City of Evansville, the State Police Escorts, each one special, and just for us. None more so than the employees of Mid America standing and clapping and waving and welcoming us as we drove onto their place of business. It came from their hearts. Thank you! Thanks for all of the special gifts given by our hosts. I saw many of us using Corvette Centrals' wash bucket on the remainder of our trip.
That leaves only the reception from the people and staff at The National Corvette Museum. All of those Corvette People with their camcorders and cameras; they know a good thing when they see one, or should I say, 50 good things. It was such a class act and we were in the center of it. Well-done NCM. Well-done Larry Hayes!
So many memories, so many good feelings, and so many people doing nice things for us. What a great picture from St. Louis. Very well done Rob Crum How about the booklet and the flags from Bill Buck, the dash card and angel from Chaz and Gael Cone. How about the money spent on the HM websites. All this from participants.
Over the 10 years or so that I've owned Corvettes, I have had the opportunity to be involved in some very special events. The Historic Motorama transcended them all. It truly was the Super Bowl of Corvette Events.
I look forward to seeing all of you in the future. It would be great if we all got together again with our Corvettes, maybe a couple of years in the future. (Are you listening, Larry?)
In closing I want to share a thought from one of the participants. We were discussing the survey that we filled out pertaining to the Motorama. I believe that we agreed on the high point of the trip, but he informed me that for the low point he wrote "N/A". I couldn't agree more.
