The First Historic Motorama

Saturday, June 29, 2002

Most of us met this morning in the lobby of the hotel to get those last-minute signatures.  We've become "Motorama Groupies" it seems.  And, tomorrow, no one will want our names written on anything except a check.  Our "fifteen minutes of fame" are just about over.

We all trooped (randomly) back to the Museum for another display day.  It was (no surprise here) HOT as usual.

Here's the first thing I saw as I came through the Museum entrance this morning:

I understand that, later in the day, there was a new set of type
across this one saying "She Said YES!".   Good for Brian and Mandy!
An NCM proposal is the finest kind.

Remember that all the Motorama cars had the special Kentucky license plates?  I was walking past the only 1983 Corvette on the planet and there was the plate:

Good to see the '83 included in all the fun!

Today, without the crowd around, I was able to photograph the foam models that John Cafaro and Tom Peters designed as pre-C5 final design exercises.  Here's John's:

    And here's Tom's:

I told Gael that Dave Hill would graciously sign our Motorama book.  But he just stood there...

Well, folks, we're heading home in the morning.   We had a lot of fun, several pretty emotional moments and we met some new friends we'll have for life.  That's what Corvette is all about (for us).  We're so grateful that we got to do this.  Thanks for watching... Chaz 'n Gael
