They were on the bus until nearly 10pm and arrived back at the Chateau hungry.
Two towns over is a Pizzeria owned by a chap who happens to be a Le Mans Race Official. We all decided to caravan over for pizza and libations. Here's the place:
It's located right next to a 14th Century cathedral under restoration. I'll try to go back during daylight and show the contrast!
Dan made a few obligatory remarks about tomorrow's plan. If you know anything about race promoting you know that the plans are always fluid; until the moment the event comes off, everything is in flux. Well, during the past 24 hours the parade lap was off - on - off -- and finally ON again! So in addition to leading the kickoff parade through Le Mans tomorrow evening at 6pm, we will definitely get to do a lap or two on the racecourse at 8:00am Saturday morning. There WILL (believe me) be pictures of these events!
Tomorrow the plan is to leave the Chateau in caravan at 9:30am. We'll drive to Le Mans (some three hours to our north) in order to arrive at the required time of 1:00pm (allowing for refueling, etc.) Once we're in place, we will hang around the track until the parade at 6pm. That's noon Eastern time so it's possible that SpeedVision will cover it live...
After the parade (at about 9pm) we will leave the C5s in the GM Corral right next to the C5R Pits and return to Curzay by coach. This gets us back here by about 12:30pm. We will nap, refresh and be back on the bus by 3:30am (yes, that's three hours) in order to be back at Le Mans by 6:30am -- the required time to show our presence in order to have our parade lap(s) at 8:00am. That's all over by 8:20am so we'll be free to enjoy the Le Mans facility until the race starts at 4pm. The start (and, indeed, the whole 24 hours) will be televised live on Speedvision. 4pm Le Mans time is 10am Eastern time, Saturday morning.
