Tuesday, June 20th -- Back to Felixstowe

Ah, our last day in France! We got a chance to sleep in this morning as we were not due to leave Rouen until 11am. It's only a two hour drive to Calais where we have a 2:51pm EuroTrain reservation. This time we were all ready to go on time except:

That's right, Dan and Peta who had everything they own (in Europe) scattered on the ground around the C5 Registry Show Car at 10:55am!

We had another great 100+mph tour of western France as we moved quickly north to Calais:

We reached Calais in good order (and ahead of schedule) and were happily reunited with the Clark family, all five of 'em. Though Allen was pretty thoroughly drugged, he was released from hospital and on his way home with us. Hooray!

Here most of us are lined up outside the duty free shops at the French end of the EuroTunnel:

At the appointed time we queued up for our slots on the Chunnel train; here's a shot of the loading process (please excuse the shot through the windshield; we were almost stopped by English customs for smuggling French insects into the UK):

The 45 minutes on the EuroTrain passed uneventfully. When we disembarked we drove to a rest stop where we waited for Adrian to join up with us to lead us (one more time) to Felixstowe; he arrived in timely fashion and posed near Bruce's C5.

Jock and brother Mike had "fixed" Hank's rear-end damage with band-aids. Worked well:

Then we were off for our final 100+mph jaunt (this time on UK highways) from Folkstowne to Felixstowe:

We arrived in good order back at The Brook Hotel, Felixstowe, completing our circle. There was abnormal milling about as we each had to decide which items would be shipped home with the cars and which would be carried home on the plane:

With the cars all delivered safely to the shipper -- we're outta here!
