A registration area was organized on the mezzanine of Sam's Town from 2pm to 4pm. Got the chance to put faces with the names I've been seeing on the C5Net for years. Here (thanks to Philip Long)is a shot of Jake, Jackie Nielsen and Dick Kling manning one of the three registration tables:
Sam's Town is really cool inside; this is the central atrium. They make it look like individual highrise buildings in here:
After registration we gathered at "our" parking deck to caravan over to Fairway Chevrolet. The owner, Greg Heinrich (C5R#Y3665), thoughtfully invited us for a deli dinner and to view his private Chevrolet/Corvette museum. It was awesome to see 50+ Corvettes fill a parking lot that he'd generously cleared out for us. The (free) food was great and so was the chance to see his 50-car collection about half of which is vintage Corvettes. The oldest was a 55 and there were a ton of mid-year cars (my personal favorites). Here, courtesy of Philip Long, are some pix from the Fairway Chevrolet collection:
