Lisa Stanich was the only GM person we saw; it's always nice to see her (even when she's surrounded...):
Right next to the Corvette Corral was the Viper Corral. What a turnout!
The track only permitted fifty cars in the parade lap. Since we had seventy-one cars, we drew lots to see who would get to go. The winners all lined up getting ready to go through the tunnel to the infield:
...and through the tunnel (picture by Philip Long) we went!
The drawing resulted in several interesting pairings. Here's Steve Blaha C5R#W0423 and Sandy Enriquez C5R#V0054 in Steve's Green Hornet (24 hours before his wreck on the way home):
Here we are ready to enter the track for the parade lap:
..and thanks to Lee Ann O'Daniel, here's a shot of the parade lap itself:
We were in position before the Speedvision World Challenge race ended. Here's Scotty B. White at speed:
C5 Registry Sponsor Les Stanford Chevrolet third-place podium finish is immortalized here:
The race is on, Ron Fellows is driving C5R#3 while his driving partner, Andy Pilgrim, watches (in his red ball cap):
Later, Andy is suited up and ready to go. That black thing in his hand is his "booster" seat. Since Andy normally is on the "short" team, the booster seat adapts the "tall" car to his vertically-challenged stature:
Both C5Rs pit (click to see larger):
Ron's out of the car (and not looking happy):
Here's why. The right rear tire blew and took much of the right rear fender, rear clip and suspension parts with it.
Registry Member Rich Thomson C5R#Y4163 picked up some of the pieces:
Here's where the pieces came from (dang!) (click to see larger):
Here's the prototype winner (as usual), the #78 Audi:
And, finally, here's Chris Kneifel and Justin Bell being interviewed on the podium after their very respectable third place finish in C5R#4 with Kelly Collins:
