I decided to come too late to get space at the official Registry hotel, Sam's Town on Boulder highway. The hotel is outside the familiar "strip" area of Las Vegas. Perhaps for this reason they bent over backward to be welcoming to the nearly 100 C5s that descended on their property. They dedicated a full deck of a parking garage to parking for our C5s and provided security as well. And the Registry dinner Friday night was the best hotel food I've had in many years. But I get ahead of my story...
Most of the work to make the BB West a success was done by Janet Curran and her team. Great job, Janet!
Did you know that you can rent a C5 in Las Vegas? Rent-a-Vette (yep, that's what it's called) has in their fleet of exotic cars of six 2000 C5 convertibles -- and Registry members flying in for the Birthday Bash rented them all. And before you give me a ration for driving a C5 with body side moldings -- they ALL had body side moldings. No choice. So I spent three days behind the wheel of this Mil Yellow Roadster and had a great time.
Because there are so many pictures of the weekend I've been asked to reorganize this page into multiple smaller pages; I hope you like it. Just click on the weekday to go to that day's events.
A page that has changes since my last update will have a green starburst next to it in the menu below.
