C6 Unveiling, Detroit Auto Show 2004

Thursday, January 8, 2004

Corvette buddy Bob Hardt and I had an uneventful flight on Northwest and hooked up with Bob's son Chad at the Detroit airport baggage claim.  Three minutes later and Corvette buddy Ed Duprey drove up and whisked us away to his home.  Shirley and Ed were kind enough to host the "lost boys" for the weekend:

Left to right are Chaz, Ed, Bob and Chad.

This evening, Les Stanford Chevrolet of Dearborn was hosting a get-together for Registry members at their dealership.  My favorite food (free!):

Dan Adovasio and Jake Drennon (C5 Registry directors) were both in attendance; as I said, the food was free..

    Jake

You've seen his posts peddling C5s and C6s on the C5Net -- now living in Michigan and working for Les Stanford Chevrolet, this is Rick Daniel:

One of our hosts, Scott Montgomery:

..and one of the owners of Les Stanford Chevrolet, Gary Stanford:

Now, this is a dangerous grouping:

Rick Daniel, Scott Montgomery and Dan Adovasio!

Dan and Registry Member Jim Miller (who drove all the way from NY in his C5 in the snow and ice:

Charlie and Leslie Goss came from Florida:

Here's Registry friend and key GM guy Dave Peacy:

One of the newest GM campaigns encourages us to come to a GM dealer and push the "HOT Button" on the OnStar system.  GM is giving away 1,000 cars and you can find out if you're an instant winner.  Les Stanford had a Trailblazer on the floor and we all tried pushing the button.  Here is Chad Hardt NOT winning:

..and Frank Genova (also a loser)...

Our most sincere thanks to Les Stanford Chevrolet for hosting this get-together!
