Corvettes @ Carlisle, 1998

August 28, 1998

Yes, another trip! Boy was the summer of '98 filled with Corvette events. This time my friend Pete (C5R# W1005) and I drove from Atlanta to Carlisle, PA. A pretty long haul but, boy, were there Corvettes to see!

As usual, the C5 Registry had a C5 Corral; this time with nearly 100 members represented.

This shot shows a bunch of the cars lined up. It was taken from about 5% down the line back toward the C5 Registry tent. Notice the hot looking metallic yellow car. The black one is mine.
Here's a badly focused (sorry, he's always movin') picture of our fearless leader, Dan Adovasio (C5R# V0001). He's not really that red; it's just the tent!

And just look at the Corvettes up the hill...

You can see the metallic yellow car a bit better. And, behind it, one of the rare (only 15 made) Aztec Gold C5s. This great looking car was brought to Carlisle and parked in the Registry tent by Steve Moore Chevrolet (one of the C5 Registry's member dealerships).
Looking the other way down the line of the C5 Registry cars. There was nowhere to stand at Carlisle so one shot could cover them all!

That Nassau Blue beauty belongs to Scotty Knight (C5R# W0661).

Here's a picture of our other Registry Director, Jake Drennon (C5R# V0002), describing how high the stack of C5 Registry applications was at the time.
If you can look around Jim Hill (C5R# W1200) in his terrific looking C5 Registry Shirt, you can see much of the sea of C5s at Carlisle. Awesome!
