Blue Ridge Cruise, 2003

We Corvette-types are blessed with a great community. Our club, Classic Glass, was invited by the Corvette Group of the Blue Ridge Mountains to join them on a cruise through North Georgia and a train ride on the Blue Ridge Scenic Railway on Saturday, October 11th.

The day dawned kinda rainy but the Atlanta-area folks gathered at our usual "Go north on GA 400 from here" spot, the BP station just east of GA 400 on Holcomb Bridge Road:

    We gathered there around 8:30a..

We all gathered for the drivers' meeting:

..Tom and Greg seem to disagree a bit on exactly which way to go when we leave the parking lot..

..but we hit the road at 9:00am right on schedule.

The first stop was at the Trading Company for a "rest stop" -- and some shopping.

One of the attractions at the Trading Company were the "facilities":

On the road again through Young Harris to the Cottage Deli. We had two hours to enjoy a great meal..

.. before leaving for Blue Ridge and the train ride.

Though the weather was mostly overcast and drizzly, the train ride was very pleasant; the leaves hadn't turned yet but the foliage and river were still lovely. Great job by our "Conductors" Gene and Donna Clopton! Thanks again!
