September 2007

    Day 12 - Sunday, September 30, 2007

We slept in this morning until the brilliant sunshine invaded around the edges of the curtain and woke us up.  We've been blessed with perfect weather every single day.

Gael scheduled her first massage of the entire voyage for 1pm today.  Today promises to be a leisurely one as we plan for our re-insertion into the world.

Today's handout contains interesting facts about our ship, Century.  The engines make about 140,000 HP and get 94.3 gallons per mile (yes, gallons per mile); probably not the most efficient way to travel unless you divide by the 1,750 guests and 868 crew on board.  The ship is 815 feet long and 105 feet wide at the widest spot.

This morning there was a Q&A session in the theater and a parade of virtually the entire crew:

We spent the day lazing about and enjoying our last day of the cruise.  At 4:48p we met with a couple we'd met earlier in the week (in the hot tub) to discuss wine opportunities in and around Santa Barbara.  Sylvia and Dave were most helpful in helping us scope out next year's HOB Wine Tour.

Dinner was great as usual and we said heartfelt goodbyes to our six other tablemates.

Tomorrow we dock at Barcelona at 6:00a and we muster for our exit and transfer to the airport at 8:00a.  This will be the last report until we get home tomorrow night; thanks for traveling with us!
