If you're reading this I guess I got enough time to do the job.
The day began for Gael with a massage at 8:00a. I slept in until the lifeboat drill at 10:00a. Every one of the 2,000 passengers and 1,000 crew suit up in life vests and stand on deck next to the appropriate lifeboat. The lifeboats hold 150 people so there are 20 of them. Didn't take long and I forgot to bring along the camera to capture what 3,000 orange life vests look like all in one place.
Here's the view from our balcony this morning:
Tonight's dinner was the first of two formal dress evenings. We clean up pretty good:
Dinner was excellent. We must have done something to piss someone off or they assumed we were antisocial because our table is a 4-top and only two place settings. The location was perfect (less than 20 feet from the big windows overlooking our wake). It seemed odd at first not to be at an 8- or 10-top as we'd been in prior cruises but we quickly got used to the "service just for the two of you" thing.
After dinner we went to the showroom (well, hey, we were DRESSED!) for a Broadway revue. Ten dancers, five singers and a lot of energy. We enjoyed it a lot. Oh, and the free champagne and chocolate didn't hurt at all..
Tomorrow we arrive in Juneau and our helicopter landing on the Mendenhall Glacier!
