Buzz and Jackie's Monterey Adventure 2002

    Wednesday, August 14th

Wednesday they had us meeting at noon to go on a 170-mile rally in which approximately 30 cars were participating. Chaz & Gael switched cars with Rick and Linda who had an Impala, and we were off to the scenic roads around the area. We had a wild time on the many switch back roads, through an army base, through several forests, up and down very narrow uninhabited roads..

..until we arrived at Rte 1 on the coast and headed north from Big Sur. What a beautiful ride with great warm weather. Buzz had a chance for a while to lead the pack and really aired out the C5. I think Dennis and Leslie with the Silver C5 from Texas will vouch for the fun we were having. Yes, Jackie was holding the grab rail at several areas along the route. Ronnie, I must tell you that RRAPTUR performed flawlessly and loved every minute. We then arrived at Baja Café for a Mexican buffet, complete with margaritas and great conversation:

At this point Skip Frenzel, Sponsor Chairman regretfully told us that this completed the Monterey del Oro. Well, Skip I for one will never forget the time we have had in Monterey and thank you for all you're thought and planning over the last year or more. I'm sure "a good time was had by all."
