Buzz and Jackie's Monterey Adventure 2002

    Friday, August 16th

    Friday morning found us performing the necessary things to spruce up the C5 for the Pacific Grove Concours Rally. We arrived in the beautiful town of Pacific Grove around 1:00PM to pick up our registration packets, golf shirt and form a line in the center of town to leave our car for the day. What a sight! There were over 200 vehicles all lined up head to tail and I must say looking good:

    The best part about this show is that there are all kinds of cars, from the oldies right on through the new models. Since Corvette was the featured car, there were an abundance of the fiberglass beauties everywhere. Not to be forgotten, there were even a new Thunderbird, some Ferraris, and even a really beautiful Viper.

    After spending the day looking at the cars and enjoying the beautiful weather, we were off to do the road rally section of the event. What a great sight to see the line of endless automobiles wind its way through the town, along the sea, through the countryside, on along Cannery Row and back to Pacific Grove for dinner:

    Dinner was a California Bar-B-Que at Chautauqua Hall, consisting of roasted beef, chicken, beans, salad, cake and of course super company. As you can see this was another well-attended event, for that matter it seems as if all food related events were enjoyed by a great multitude of people:

    Our favorite Chief Engineer, David Hill, who once again kept all information about the C6 close to the vest, also entertained us:
