So it was off for a road trip once more. We got to Daytona Beach around noon and met the family for a bit to eat before the big game, which was around 6:00PM. Audra had to go with the team, so she said her hellos and headed back to the campus. When we arrived, our room was ready so we decided to just put our luggage down and go to the appointed meeting place. We hailed a porter and had him bring our bags up, while I parked the car. I went off to gather Jackie and use the necessary room. The room had a beautiful ocean-view and was on the 18th floor. We left the room and pushed the elevator button -- just as the fire alarm went off. The voice instructed us to walk down the stairs and not use the elevator. Did I mention that we were on the 18th floor? What a fun walk that was! Oh well, we continued on and met all for a great afternoon.
Jim & Lauren picked us up at the timeshare and we arrived at the soccer field. At least we arrived after a stop at Wal-Mart to pick up supplies fro the signs to show Audra how much we cared. It was fun to watch the process, although the paint stick did not dry and Trey did look good in green paint:
The game was very exciting as they introduced all the seniors on the team and the players walked on the field with their parents and relatives:
When they started playing for real, the heat really was turned up. The Stetson team went on to victory. The graduating members went away with smiles on their faces:
After the game, we went out for hors d'oeuvres with the team:
.. and dinner with the family and a few friends:
This was a really great time for us. With all the Corvette events, it was fun to remember to spend time with family.
