Gary Tesini's '66 Stingray
Purchased out of Detroit in January 2004, this second owner Vette was in need
of some restoration to bring it back to its original glory. It took a
little over a year and four months but the investment was worth it as these
beauties should never fall into such a state that it hurts you to look at
them. So along came a new interior, seats (leather), rugs, headliner,
corner panels, door panels, new gas pedal & brake pedal, new interior
mirror and visors. On the exterior, a complete new paint job (Rally Red)
removing all the existing paint was a chore but the right way to go, new
"67" big block hood (I liked the look), new outside mirror and power
antenna, new windshield and window moldings including whiskers and felts,
new door handles and grill. The undercarriage and suspension was gone
though with new brakes, rotors, shocks, seals, new cross member, wheel
bearings etc. and ready for the road she was.....oops! Nope; the rims and
tires....ummmm what to do here??? Well, I always liked the look of the '67
rallies so I threw those on with new Firestone Indy 500's with raised
white letters and it's off to the shows.
