This vehicle was originally purchased by Bill and Karen Coberly. My wife and I have admired these 53CEs from the very first time we saw them at the Detroit Woodward Dream Cruise in 2004. We met Bill and Karen some time later and always admired their car. We made an effort to purchase a different one in 2012, but it was not meant to be. We told Bill and Karen about the effort and asked them to keep us in mind if they ever decided to sell theirs.
Bill passed away in November of 2016. In June of 2017 we were participating in a car cruise with our Corvette Club (Corvettes of PA) and were talking to Karen when she mentioned that she was thinking of selling the 53CE. We made arrangements to purchase the car and promised to give it a good home.
We plan to enjoy it as often and as much as possible, but we have other collector cars and other interests, so mileage will be minimal.
