This is my sixth Vette. My first was a 1962 then 1964, 1989, 1999, 1969 and now 2002. My favorite was the 1969. I have a 1969 350 modified convertible also now. I belong to two Vette clubs: Central California Corvette Club and Golden State Corvettes. I've been married to my wife Bonnie for 36 years and we have no children. She is operations Mgr at DMC hospital in Modesto and I'm retired and in a group doing land development at Don Pedro lake near where I live.
Other hobbies are photograpy and stereo sound systems.
Most of all I like keeping my Vettes really sharp.
I contacted #82 Rich Harley and meet up with him at a car show. He has a great white car and lives nearby.
I sold a 1999 coupe and bought a 2002 convertible so I could do this conversion. At this time I also own a frame-on restored 1969 convertible; this is my sixth Corvette, as I am a Corvette crazy car nut!
I will fly back to meet all the people at AAT when my car is done. I want to see it there and watch them load it on truck for delivery to my home in California. Most of all reason to go back is to meet Steve & Steve Jr. I am planning on doing the before and after thing on car. It was dark when the car was picked up to be shipped back, so no photos of that.
My CE#139 will be Candy Apple Red with standard C5 Oak interior.
I just talked to Rachel at AAT and they are in phase two of the build. Going along faster then I had anticapated. They sent me photos of the car so far as of now; I'll get them onto this page soon.
This will give you an idea of my age: I was in the eighth grade when I saw my first Corvette sitting on the show room floor at a local Chevy dealer. It was just like yesterday and love at first sight. Yes, I am 67½ years young and this may be my last fling at a great car, but what memories I have of years gone by. Vettes forever. I just bought two new Toyota Prius cars, one for my wife and one for myself.
They are our grocery-getters or drivers. When people ask me how I feel about the difference between the two cars, I tell them it is like flying a blimp and a stealth.
It's hard to believe, but the Prius actually has a better coefficent drag rating then the Vettes. It is lacking in the power department though.
I hope this helps you add some insight on me.
Here are a few in-process photos of my CE:
I'd just like to say that AAT and this web site offer what is not avaiable to any other Corvette owners. It makes me very proud to have made the decision to have a special car and belong to a special group of people. Thanks again !!!
