The Wait (part II)..

Monday, September 23, 2002

Steve Pasteiner sent me this one (just to tantalize me...) and promised more soon:

You can see the fog lights at either side (inside) the grille area.   And, you can see the red dashboard that has been dropped in for pre-fit.

Here are the rest of the current batch from Steve; these were taken on September 18th.

This one shows the pre-primed body panels all in place (except for the trunk cover).  Notice that the only original panels still on the car are the doors, the rocker panels and the convertible top cover panel:

Here you see most of the dyed interior trim back in place (to test) along with the new two-tone steering wheel:

These were actually taken a week later on September 25th.   Once the body panels were mounted, aligned and their mounting locations marked on the frame, they are removed (along with the interior trim panels) for priming and painting.   This is one truly nekkid C5!

Here are the front and rear clips with the first prime coat/sand cycle complete:

The remaining Torch panels have begun to be sanded ready for primer and re-paint; this work is done on the car as these panels are bonded to the frame at the Corvette factory:

Here are all the interior trim pieces, dyed and ready to re-install:
