It was chilly in the Big K parking lot but the day was beautiful:
Lately, we're used to having the coolest C5 at gatherings such as this; but today:
.. Marilyn and Roman Sabadaszka brought their brand new Andy Pilgrim Edition Z06! Wow!
We got underway at 11:30 heading for lunch at the Third Coast Restaurant at Lake Lanier. Things were going pretty smoothly until we encountered a full-size house traveling our road in the opposite direction. The local police kindly stopped the house and routed our caravan around it; very nice.
The next surprise came when one (unnamed) member reported a paucity of fuel -- so we all stopped while he gassed up.
It would, I suppose, be wrong/rude to point out the individual responsible for our unscheduled pit stop; wouldn't it? Maybe not..:
Actually, a number of the caravan participants chose this moment for a different kind of pit stop. Sadly, this particular gas station had only a single unisex one-holer:
We ultimately arrived at Third Coast and had a terrific lunch:
Here are the cars parked outside the restaurant:
After lunch it was a short drive to the Emerald Pointe Resort:
I don't know if Bill Gates is an investor, but this is the name of the main restaurant there:
At about 5:30 we were bussed down to the lake for our sunset cruise on the boat:
I was surprised at how luxurious the boat was. There were drinks and excellent hors d'oeuvres and great companionship:
Did I mention that it was a "sunset cruise"? Well,.:
There was a party starting at 9pm (sadly, I was too pooped to attend for more than a minute or two -- and left the camera in the room at that).
Sunday morning there was an "on-your-own-schedule" brunch that was quite good:
Is it just me, or does Greg look pretty relieved that it's all over?
Thanks to Classic Glass for a fun weekend and a good excuse to take the CE out!
