I decided to take two cars; Gael drove the CE and I took along our "Motorama" '64 Corvette. Our Classic Glass Club president, Tom Wilcox, accused me of "showing off..." Well, maybe just a little -- but I wanted Gael to have the experience of showing the CE.
The CE is wearing it's new red mask and mirror covers from C5 Creations:
We joined the club caravan of seven cars and drove the 50+ miles to Madison, GA east of Atlanta on I-20. I was driving the '64 and was cruising at what I thought was 70 when I noticed the GPS was reading 80; seems there's a 10MPH discrepancy in the '64 speedo..good to know!
We arrived on the square in Madison a bit before 10AM:
The city closed down the square and the streets around it for the cars. There were more than 100 cars and trucks there of all types:
(The following four were taken by Tom Wilcox)
This show had a professional judge as well as a "participants" competition where everyone showing a car could vote for five cars; a trophy was awarded to the top fifteen cars.
There was a DJ playing 50s and 60s songs and lots of great cars.
Gael fell in love with this 1938 Cadillac, even with the purple leather interior; well, she IS the Queen of Excess...
