In 2003, the 50th anniversary of Chevrolet’s Corvette, I visited my local Chevrolet dealer to have a look at the 50th anniversary model.  I had owned a number of Corvettes and wanted to see what General Motors had designed to commemorate 50 years of extraordinary cars.  I was disappointed to discover that the 50th Anniversary Edition was truly quite ordinary.  No real effort had been made to create a special car.

As I was leaving the dealership, I noticed a very special car in the parking lot.  It was the “Commemorative Edition” inspired by the original 1953 Corvette and developed in Rochester Hills, MI by Advanced Automotive Technologies.  It was stunning.

I purchased a 50th Anniversary Corvette from the dealership and had it shipped directly to Rochester Hills for Steve Pasteiner’s makeover.  For the past 18 years, I have enjoyed watching the impact it has made at every stoplight, gas station, restaurant, and highway.  People leaning out of windows to take pictures; inevitable congratulation from folks who have asked what kind of car it is.

I’ve owned Aston Martins, Jaguars, Maseratis and a Lotus Esprit – none of them ever came close to the attention this car receives.

Sadly, it's now time for this dream car to enhance someone else's life.  If you have interest in owning this 1953 Commemorative Edition Corvette, click to email me.
